Principal's Corner

 

Blake Rhyne is proud to serve as principal of Decker Middle School. Prior to joining Manor Independent School District, Rhyne served as the Founding Principal of Paseo Preparatory School with KIPP Texas Public Schools since 2021. During that time, he helped lead campus-wide professional development to help better support students and worked to improve academic performance campus-wide. Rhyne has also served as an Assistant Principal and Principal with Kansas City Public Schools. 

Before joining Kansas City Public Schools, Rhyne worked as an elementary, secondary, and journalism teacher with Kannapolis City Schools in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Recognized for his work during this time, Rhyne was ranked in the top 25% of state educators based on student growth and performance. The North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics also recognized him as an Outstanding Elementary Teacher. In total, he has a decade of experience in education. 

Mr. Rhyne earned his Master's in School/Organization Administration and Bachelor's in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Rhyne is currently completing his Doctorate of Educational Leadership at Concordia University.

Principal Rhyne believes successful schools are built by supporting students, holding them to high expectations, and modeling excellence.
